Susan O'Shaughnessy

Administrator/ Marketing Director

With a degree in Gerontology from SDSU, Susan has over 26 years’ experience in assisted living communities. Susan has been part of the Sungarden Terrace team since 2020, and most enjoys introducing the amenities and staff to new residents. She loves the Padres and the Beatles and believes, “I get by with a little help from my friends.”

Cindy Ramos

Culinary Director

Cindy Ramos has a way with food!  Her creativity for making all meals delicious and served with a celebratory flair, brings Sungarden Terrace residents happily to our Dining Room for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Cindy comes to us with nine years’ experience in the food service industry working in restaurants, hotels and country clubs. In 2018, Cindy began her career with Sungarden Terrace and  fell in love with senior living and considers nourishing our residents most rewarding.  In her free time, she volunteers in animal rescue, and is passionate about exercise and wellness.  Cindy believes, “Everyday is a new beginning where you can learn and grow.”

Marcos Sainz

Activities Director

“Hello! My name is Marcos Ramos, I am the Activities Director at Sungarden Terrace.”  Friendly, outgoing and welcoming, Marcos is able to engage even the quietest person in conversation or to participate in a daily activity.  Working with older adults for over seven years, Marcos has learned to “actively listen” and understands the importance of their life stories which span origins, loves, challenges and everything in between.

After receiving his degree in Child Care and Development from Southwestern College, Marcos completed courses in Personal Enrichment for Youth and Older Adults.  Recently, Marcos obtained Activities Director, California certification, specializing in supporting the emotional, spiritual, physical and social lives of seniors.  In his leisure, Marcos enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music and camping.

Raymon “Ray” Rojas

Building Engineer

Raymon “Ray” Rojas is responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting at Sungarden Terrace. Having recently joined the team, Ray was already familiar with the building and staff from his previous work with our corporate office on various sites, including Sungarden Terrace. He enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving, with a dedication to maintaining a beautiful, Community. Ray also loves working with seniors and enjoys listening to their life experiences. Outside of work, he spends quality time with his son.

Cassie Hammond

Sales & Marketing Director

Cassie Hammond is our Sales & Marketing Director with over 16 years of experience in senior living. She brings a deep understanding of all aspects of senior care, including Assisted Living (AL), Independent Living (IL), and Memory Care (MC).

Cassie spent 15 years as an Activity Director before recently transitioning into Sales & Marketing, giving her a unique, resident-first perspective. She is deeply dedicated to her residents and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Outside of work, Cassie enjoys fishing and camping with her family and has a strong love for animals.

Ayleen Pfeiffer

Resident Services Director

Hello, I’m Ayleen, the Resident Services Director at Sungarden Terrace. I joined the team in December of 2025 and am grateful to be back in San Diego, where I spent much of my childhood. I hold a degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon and have six years of experience in memory care and assisted living.

My passion for this work comes from personal experience. Having a grandmother with dementia shows me how important compassionate care is. Her journey continues to guide my commitment to supporting residents and their families in a welcoming environment where they feel supported and confident in the care they receive.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, rewatching favorite movies like “The Lord of the Rings,” exploring record stores, working on creative projects, and spending time with my family.

Jasmine Ybarra

Administrative Assistant

Jasmine Ybarra is the Administrative Assistant at Sungarden Terrace. With over a year and a half experience, She supports daily office operations, Manages administrative tasks, and helps ensure smooth communication and organization within the team. On her free time she likes to take her daughter out and spend time with family.
